Choose around the application.

Ask for traceability, declared recycled content, the measurement basis and an achievable end-of-life route.

Questions to bring to the conversation

  • What is the application, and which requirements are essential?
  • How will the finished component be manufactured and assembled?
  • Which conditions should be represented in testing?
  • What happens at the end of the useful service life?

Any performance, food-contact or environmental claim needs evidence for the specific grade and application. Agree the validation and documentation requirements before selecting a final design.

Distinguish the feedstock route

Mechanically recycled content physically enters the resin or foam. Mass-balance schemes account for alternative inputs through a certified supply system. State the basis of the declaration.

Evaluate the application

Check traceability, relevant grade documentation and intended use. Colour, process behaviour and validation may need review when the material changes.

Plan a realistic recovery loop

Simpler material combinations, controlled collection and repeat-use arrangements can support circular design. Record who collects the product and which recovery route is available.
