Custom EPP parts

Connect component geometry, polymer selection and manufacturing around your application.

A PRACTICAL STARTING POINT

Connect the process to the purpose.

Custom parts begin with function, interfaces and operating conditions. Develop EPP bead-foam moulding around the design, density and required interfaces. Review tooling, assembly, representative prototypes and a validation plan before defining the final part.

Questions to bring to the conversation

  • What is the application, and which requirements are essential?
  • How will the finished component be manufactured and assembled?
  • Which conditions should be represented in testing?
  • What happens at the end of the useful service life?

Any performance, food-contact or environmental claim needs evidence for the specific grade and application. Agree the validation and documentation requirements before selecting a final design.

Define the function

Record the product interfaces, loading, operating environment and intended lifetime. Packaging, a structural insert and an enclosure require different evidence even when they share a polymer family.

Shape EPP around the application

Expanded polypropylene beads are fused inside a shaped mould using steam, then cooled and released. Define the grade, moulded density, geometry and production quantities around the intended use.

Prepare the project brief

Bring drawings, the current design, target volumes and acceptance criteria. Include part handling, assembly, inspection and end-of-life arrangements so the component can be evaluated as part of its operating system.
